March 19–20, 2009, VSL supported an exercise in the bridge simulator at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg. The exercise was a part of the EfficienSea project, which has participants from six nations on the Baltic rim. The project is expected to promote safer maritime operations in the Baltic region.

The purpose of the exercise was to simulate and document two scenarios with normal traffic in the Sound between Denmark and Sweden. These scenarios will be used as baselines for evaluating new technology from the users' perspective.

VSL supported data collection and created multimedia representations of the baseline scenarios. CITE Observer, CITE Communicator and CITE Explorer were used for data collection and multimedia representations. Read more about the project.
