On November 10–11 2009, the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency
hosted a seminar on accident investigations and learning from accidents in Gothenburg, Sweden.
VSL participated within the project Improved learning from rescue operations and exercises.
Drs. Johan Jenvald and Magnus Morin presented the Gårdsätter case study, carried out in collaboration with the Fire–Rescue Department in Linköping, Sweden.
The seminar attracted some 100 participants interested in accident investigation and learning from accidents. In addition to accident investigators from Swedish local fire–rescue services, representatives from private companies
and authorities in Sweden participated, including areas such as occupational health and safety, electrical safety, and transportation.
Marianne Stålheim from MSB was responsible for preparations and local coordination of the seminar.
