On May 5–7, 2010, representatives from VSL and the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) visited
the Institute for Simulation and Training (IST) and the
Orange County Fire Rescue Division (OCFRD) in Orlando, USA.
The theme of the visit was increased learning from exercises and systematic lessons-learned from rescue operations.
Anders Axelsson presented MSB:s official table standard to Professor J. Peter Kincaid at the Institute for Simulation and Training, University of Central Florida.
The visit to Orange County Fire Rescue Division was hosted by Chief Joe Donovan, who helped organize the Swedish-American emergency exercise that we conducted in Orlando in year 2000.

At OCFRD we got the opportunity to test the command and control training facility and to discuss issues regarding debriefing and learning.
Orange County Fire Rescue Division has worked hard to increase the personal safety of their firefighters.
An important step in this work has been to develop a system for personnel accountability during rescue operations.
